Earlier today . . .

Earlier today while I was walking away from Barnes and Noble to my car, an elderly gentleman and I made eye contact. I smiled, and looked away really quick to avoid misinterpretation. Then, as I passed him, he mumbled, "I'm a coward." Or perhaps it was, "I need a shower." Or, "There's a tower." However, I'm 83% sure it was the first. And I don't know what to say.
